Children & Youth

More than the future of the church. The church here and now.

First Presbyterian’s ministries for families, youth and children offer a wide range of programs, including church school, children’s church, choirs, fellowship opportunities, summer programs and camps. Children – no matter how wiggly – also are always welcome to worship with their families at First Presbyterian.

Early Childhood

Our church provides quality care and engaging, age-appropriate activities for our youngest children, as well as a place of welcome and connection for parents. Our safe, nurturing and comfortable environment reflects God’s love and care for families and children. A nursery is provided during Sunday mornings for infants through children age 3.

Children

Our church encourages children’s valuable presence and involvement in many places and practices of the church community. Church School is available each Sunday morning beginning at 9:30. On Sunday evenings during the school year, a “tweens” program is offered for children grades 3-5. Throughout the church year, special offerings are available for children, including Vacation Bible School, a Christmas Pageant, an Advent Workshop, and a Fall Festival. Children’s choir is also offered throughout the school year.

Youth

The youth program at First Presbyterian Church offers middle and high school youth a nurturing environment to learn and grow together through fellowship and service through retreats, activities and mission projects. Our youth group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month in the evening. Confirmation is offered every-other-year for 8th and 9th graders.
