“Christ has no hands, no feet on earth but yours.” (Teresa of Avila)
At First Presbyterian Church, we are passionate about putting flesh to our faith by serving this world. Our Session has committed to ensuring that at least 10% of our annual budget goes toward mission efforts, including supporting the work of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in the United States and around the world. We support local organizations through benevolence commitments and by volunteering alongside one another at various ministries around town.
For 20 years, our church has hosted an annual Multicultural Festival on our church lawn, where we celebrate God’s gift of diversity. Community members from various countries, culture groups and faiths are invited to share their particular offerings, whether at a booth, through live performances, or through cuisine. The Multicultural Festival has truly become a treasure in the Owensboro community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to host it each year.
